ALL ABOUT NIT DURGAPUR....

THIS BLOG IS FOR THOSE WHO ARE GOING TO TAKE ADMISSION IN SOME NIT BUT ARE CONFUSED ABOUT WHICH NIT TO TAKE.......I DONT KNOW ABOUT THE OTHER NITs BUT I CAN TELL YOU EVERY THING ABOUT NIT DURGAPUR OR NIT DGP........

INFRASTRUCTURE- buildings are very very old.....academic building although it is big but it dont even look like it is of NIT, it looks like it has never been painted, their are no ACs in the computer lab or in library and not even in the administrative building, classrooms are very very old ....walls look like they are painted with chalks....fans in the classrooms are from late 50s.....their are no audio speakers in the class rooms so if you are planning to sit on the last bench drop that idea, hostels are okay but in first year they keep five students in a single room which can hardly accomodate three, first year students will probably get hall 9,physics lab is okay but not so good looking wise, chemistry lab is clearly a municipal dustbin, electrical labs are good, mechanical drawing labs are good, workshops are not so good but are having every instruement, there are two play grounds lords and oval both are big but oval is bigger than lords, bathrooms in the hostel are regularly cleaned,ECE and CSE have nice departments ,biotech has no separate department of its own it has been given a small space in the academic building.....

RAGGING- ragging is the only thing which is best in this college ....i think this college must be ranked one in ragging....after 5-6 days you will be caught buy your seniors while you go to academics, library or outside, they will just ask your name and your place and sometimes your phone numbers and then leave you ,they will assure you that their is nothing like ragging in this college, they will act as your friends, they will tell you about advantages of interacting with your seniors, before going further i would like to tell you that their is zone system in NIT DGP  like bengal zone, rajasthan zone, bihar zone,UP zone .....you will be giving ragging to seniors of your zones only......after few weeks your zone seniors will start to call(zone calls) you to their rooms and tell their fake names so that you are not able to complain ,they will just ask you to fill few water bottles in the beginning....they will ask you to make zone lists of all the first year syudents from that state(like UP students for UP zone)........they will tell you to meet all the seniors of their zones..........also their will be an option for ebery student whether you want to give ragging (zone in) or not(zone out).........if you are zone out then you are free from ragging .........zone out students are teased by zone in students.......they are treated like inferior citizens..........till oct you will be mostly ragged by second year students and it is the good phase of ragging...but after durga puja holidays you will enter the hell phase of ragging.......you will be asked to come along with all your zone mates(mass calls)......every new face will get atleast 10-15 slaps......you will be asked to clean rooms, wash utensils and clothes ,send to railways counters to get reservation of your seniors(ofcourse they will give you reservation money+bus fare+extra money)........by december you will be getting atleast 10-20 slaps per day........you will not get time to study........sometimes even you have to do a night out in seniors room.....after first semester you will enter the hell in a hell phase of ragging......now your per day slaps count will raise to 50-60 tight slaps .....now most of the ragging will be taken by you third year and final year students.......weekends will become hell to you......you will love to be in class........it will be around when you will be freeed ............you will get a huge freshers by your seniors in some three star hotel.......you will now enjoy your freedom............you will then forget all your slaps......

3.FACULTY----teachers teaching in first year are horrible, mostly they are doing m.tech and know nothing(mr. venkanna was the worst)........when you will get in department then you will get very good faculty.......electrical and mechanical has best faculty........

4.MESS FOOD- mess food is terrible for north indians......there are food stalls outside the campus.......most of the time students eat there, food delivery is also available inside the campus by private canteens.........

5.SIGHT SEEING AND HANGING AROUND-there are many malls, clubs and restraunt in the city....kolkata is 160km away from durgapur..........120km away is digha beach.......

6.RANKS OF BRANCHES IN NIT DGP---
1.MECHANICAL
2.ELECTRICAL
3.META
4.ECE
5.CSE
6.IT

7.PLACEMENT-placements are very good even a 6 pointer gets a job here.........if you only looking for placement then dont leave nit durgapur

you can prefer warangal, suratkal, calicut, trichy, allahabad, jaipur, nagpur, kurukshetra, raurkela above durgapur

download and hack idm for free

internet download manager is the best tool to accelerate your internet downloading speed and is very much used in colleges to download videos but it only has a limited period trial and after the trial expires it asks for money which no one wants to pay so i will tell you how to enjoy for free...............

1. download it for free and enjoy trial offer for thirty days

HOW TO PREPARE FOR IIT-JEE

Today i am going to share with you all sure shot guru mantras for cracking IIT-JEE.I believe that if you all follow all the steps given by me then you will bag a rank in IIT JEE.....feel free to drop some comments..........

1.First of all you must know that cracking IIT is not a child's play and with the whole new format of JEE exam it wil be lot more tougher ,so make yourself familiar with the new format ( check the new format here ).And as you know that the new format is going to take your board marks for screening therefore you cannot compromise with your school studies (especially for students studying in kota and skipping school studies). So i will suggest you to have a track on your school studies. It is must for you to score atleast 80%  if you are in CBSE board and for this to happen you have to aim to score 90+ in boards .again this is not a child's play.

2.After getting acquainted with the new IIT JEE format you must join a coaching institute. Now, let me tell you that your rank is going to be effected your decision of choosing coaching institute.Dont get flattered by the high claims made by various coaching institutes because most of them are fake.I will suggest you to get into a coaching like FITJEE,AAKASH,RESONANCE....etc.If you are in kota then you can go to VIBRANT,RESONANCE,i am not so sure about BANSAL because now i am getting negative responses from many people ,saying that most of their old faculty has gone.Take suggestions from your elder brothers ,friends etc. who have cracked IIT or have prepared for IIT.If you are in delhi then you can join VIDYAMANDIR CLASSES.

3. After getting admission in a coaching institute you must enroll to a test series.I suggest you to join FITJEE or BRILLIANT test series. These coaching conduct tests nationally. You get a huge platform to test yourself.

4.NEVER MISS A TEST EVEN IF YOU ARE 100% PREPARED OR 0% PREPARED ........NEVER EVER MISS IT......

5.NEVER MISS COACHING CLASS UNNECESSARILY

6.Coaching classes usually have 3-4 days claases in a week.So you must have a home study of 2-3 hours when coaching classes are on and of 5-6 hours when coaching classes are off. HOME STUDY IS THE ONLY THING THAT DRAWS A LINE BETWEEN A QUALIFIER AND A NON QUALIFIER.

7.Coaching classes will give you tons of home assignment.Have an aim to complete the whole assignment within  given time.Make sure you complete atleast 70% of the assignment.

8.Revision-------all your hard work is a waste if you dont do regular revisions. Many IIT JEE aspirants are not in IIT just because of the revision factor. You must have a plan to revise every topic which you have completed atleast once every week....thats why it is necessary to give every test.

9.Never loose your determination.I have seen many students who start with great determination and hard work but loose the flame inside them within them.To avoid this ,i will suggest you that when you start dont rush  be calm and cool.Just follow your instructor(coaching institue)they have experiense......let them handle your speed.

10.PHYSICS-Pay attention in your coaching class complete the assignment and solve H.C. VERMA (along with objective questions) and you are done with your physics preparation .........but if you want some real brain twisters then you can solve IRODOV in spare time, dont waste time in irodov questions if you are not able to solve it, ask it or leave it.

11.CHEMISTRY-Pay attention in your coaching class complete the assignment. For inorganic NCERT books are important.for physical solve R.C. MUKHERJEE and for organic never miss a class , make good notes and regularly revise them and also practise past year papers.

12.MATHS- practise practise practise practise practise practise practise practise!!!!!!!.Buy an objective book like RD SHARMA OBJECTIVE or ML KHANNA and practise from them and you are done.

13.According to new format the mains paper will be conducted by CBSE so you must yourself familiar with past years AIEEE  paper.

14.Forget about movies, games, TV, hanging around with friends while you are preparing.......believe me you will not miss all this once you reach IIT

THAT'S ALL ----BEST OF LUCK-----

P.S. --ALLWAYS REMEMBER WHAT YOUR FATHER SAYS--"HARD WORK IS THE KEY TO SUCCESS"

new IIT format 2013..........

IIT council & MHRD have arrived at a conclusion that........

1.The students who will be among the top 20 percent scorers of their respective boards will be eligible to appear in the entrance exam.

2.Two tests will be held-advanced and mains.

3.Advanced test will be conducted by IITs ......it will be tough like regular IIT JEE exams.........advanced test will screen 1.5 lacs student and these screened candidates will then appear in main test.

4.Main test will be conducted by CBSE...........difficulty level will be like regular AIEEE exams...........

5.Students who will qualify main test can then appear for counselling in IITS and NITs
